GVK-Authorisation (english)

GVK authorizes companies that want to show their customers that they have the qualification to work according to current regulations.

What is required in order for the company to be authorised?
GVK imposes demands on both company and fitters to ensure workmanlike wetroom installations. Requirements are followed up by means of regular random checks and are paramount in order to able to be authorised by GVK. Read more regarding requirements for companies to become authorised.

What does it cost for the company to be authorised?
Costs (excluding VAT):
Annual fee (from 1/1/2024) SEK 8100 if the company is authourised for solely plastics or ceramics. If the authorisation is for both plastics and ceramics the annual fee is SEK 9100. A variable yearly fee is added of 0,27 promille of the company’s total turnover from the previous year, of at least SEK 1.500,00.

SEK 12.490,00 (non-recurrent charge when registered) of which SEK 9.000,00 concerns the service fee and SEK 3.490,00 for the mandatory GVK pump, including special tools for plinth joints.

SEK 3.800,00 for qualification Plastic flooring course
SEK 3.800,00 for qualification Ceramics course

When do GVK Safe Wetroom branch regulations apply?
Regulations are applied for thin sheet constructions and apply to bathrooms, lavatories and laundry rooms. These represent a practical application of Housing Authority regulations and harmonise with Säker Vatteninstallation, AMA Hus and AMA VVS & Kyl. For more information please see branch regulations.

What regulations shall I comply with?
GVK authorised companies shall:

  • Follow branch regulations and recommendations as per GVK. These also include work carried out by sub-contractors .
  • Make sure that foremen and fitters comply with GVK prescribed on-going training (e.g. one further training day every fifth year)
  • Regarding wet-room work, work is to be checked according to demands laid down according to GVK authorisations.
  • Register all wet-room work with GVK (AB Svensk Vårtrumskontroll) and accept random controls of work carried out.
  • Immediate measures endorsing reports for random sample checks.

Can an independent company become GVK authorised?
GVK advises against working in the construction industry as GVK authorised as an independent company. In the case of incorrect responsibility, personal responsibility is a risk and that, in the long run, could affect private economy. When applying as a private company GVK recommends that this should include the intention of starting a share- holding company.
